Sarah, Academic Tutor
Sarah is an experienced teacher and tutor who has worked with children in both the primary and secondary sectors. She has a particular love of helping children (and adults) become fluent readers. She draws on both phonics and real books to help students not only become good readers but also life-long readers who really enjoy reading for pleasure. She is also an experienced maths tutor and especially likes to help build confidence and take the mystery out of maths.
Sarah has had a secondary career in publishing as a book editor, working mainly on children’s educational and information books. She now works mainly as a digital Library Editor for a non-profit organisation, creating content to help children in some of the poorer countries of the world to learn to read.
Sarah is married with two grown-up children, one of whom is a primary school teacher and one who is studying at university. She and her family have lived in Haywards Heath for 25 years.
